Izh-2126 series “O” (“Orbit” is the name of the model at that time) appeared in 1979. This model supposedly retained the basic technical solutions of the Izh-2126T, but the exterior was significantly redesigned – 4 round headlights appeared, and the rear lights acquired a vertical configuration.
This prototype, like almost many other experimental Izh-2126s, has survived to this day; moreover, it was restored and exhibited in the Izhmash Museum. The survived example has an automatic transmission, but it is unknown at what stage of development it was installed.
