The first running prototype of Moskvich-2141-S1

“Gena the Crocodile,” as it was nicknamed at the factory, received almost the same exterior that had been developed on the mock‑up by June 1975, including even headlight wipers. There were, however, some differences: the car lacked the “American‑style” side marker lights but featured “fangs” on the bumper.

In the photo, the car is fitted with unusual wheel rims – different from those with which it has survived to the present day.
