The creators of the ZAZ-966 clearly wanted to get away as far as possible from the image of the MZMA/ZAZ-965, but in the third experimental series they took a step in the opposite direction – it was reminiscent of the ZAZ-965 in terms of surface plasticity and stylistic solutions. One prototype is believed to have been built.
