The Artistic Design Group of the Body Engineering Bureau at the General Layout Department (OGK) of MZMA developed the exterior of a new model, which in 1964 was realized in a full‑scale mock‑up.

Construction of a car with this new design “in metal” never took place, as the OGK MZMA was soon burdened with other tasks. With the design having become outdated, work on the styling of the large Moskvich had to be restarted several years later.
